'BARAK FESTIVAL: NE India Adventure Sports, Art & Culture Promotion'

‘Barak Festival’ is a signature event of the KRC Foundation. It will be organised at Silchar from 10-12 January every year.
As river ‘Barak’ originates from Liyai Kullen Village in Manipur’s Senapati district, we propose to showcase the rich cultural diversity that prevails along the route of river Barak and focus on the State of Manipur in this edition of the festival with the theme ‘NE India Adventure Sports, Art & Culture Promotion’.
The Barak Festival 2025 will have:
· Adventure Sports (Exhibition, Competition, and Participation)
· Cultural Program (Presentations, Participation & Competitions)
· E-Sports (Competition and awareness)
· Business Events (Conclaves | Buyer-Seller-Investor Meet | Networking)
· Musical nights
· Online Global Fest
· Think Tank Sessions (Media Talks, Research Papers, Whitepapers)
The participants and footfall expected:
· Barak Valley has a population of approx. 43 Lacs and the month of January is a festive month, so we expect a good number of footfalls from the general public, homemakers, students, youths and entrepreneurs
· Trade delegations from Manipur, Assam, Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya and West Bengal are expected
· Participants in Adventure Sports Competition and Cultural events across NE India and West Bengal
· An Online Global Competition on Rabindranath, Nazrul and Sukanta; Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, Hijam Irabot and Harivansh Rai Bachchan is ongoing. from 31st October till 31st December 2024
· Delegates from other parts of the country and abroad including Foreign Envoys in India and NRIs from Barak Valley / Manipur / West Bengal are expected to participate
